On-Camera Work
Since I actually have a degree and background in stage and screen acting, performing on-camera is something that comes naturally to me! While I unfortunately haven’t had the opportunity to do too much scripted work in recent years, below are some unscripted projects that highlight my onscreen presence as a host and personality.
“A BuzzFeed Holiday Special - Live!” was a livestreamed variety show that I not only produced for BuzzFeed but hosted as well. Working with multiple cameras in a live environment and on the fly with director Matt Real in my earpiece, this experience showcased my ability to remain sharp on my toes while interacting with guests and entertaining the viewing audience for almost three hours straight.
My onscreen personality has allowed for regular appearances on BuzzFeed’s other channels, including its health and wellness brand, Goodful. In “Can A Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Satisfy A Cookie Lover?”, I was the main subject for this episode of producer Rachel Gaewski’s hit “Make It Vegan” series, with my onscreen chemistry with host Merle O’Neal being particularly beloved by the audience.
While on vacation, my desire to produce travel content led to “I Tried A Turkish Bath,” a video where I challenged myself to convince some strangers to take a bath with me in one of Istanbul’s famous hammams (a bathhouse). The ending result, as seen above, was a humorous yet sweet video that highlighted not just a different culture, but my ability to easily connect with people from all around the world.
“I Became An E-Boy For A Week” is a video I produced and edited that took a traditional BuzzFeed video format (a weeklong style challenge), but one that I infused with my own unique brand of humor, energy and creativity.
Produced by Adam Bianchi, “I Tried To Re-Create This Giant Burrito” was part of the second season of Tasty’s hit series, “Eating Your Feed,” and in which I was the host for this particular episode, tasked with re-creating a famous viral dish.
In “The Man Who Made A Bomb Threat At His Wedding,” producer Steven Kanter’s pilot for BuzzFeed’s Unsolved Network, I was cast as a host to narrate the true crime being recounted, as well as to act as an intermediary between the episode’s two guests.
Both “I Sold My Photos At An Adult Convention” and “I Tried To Sell Myself in Turkey” were cheeky man-on-the-street style videos I produced where I roamed about in public trying to sell my old headshots. While silly in nature, these videos do highlight my ability to quickly form fun and entertaining rapports with strangers no matter where I am, be it at Istanbul’s historic Grand Bazaar or an Adult Entertainment Expo. Plus, I also did manage to sell my headshots in both locations!
